Another beautiful engagement session, in Grand Lake, Colorado! Did you know that Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado? Grand Lake is one of my favorite places in Colorado to capture the cutest couples and their love! I had so much fun going through their photos, there was so many adorable ones of them I almost couldn't contain myself. You really see how much a couple really loves each other looking at their photos and their mannerisms and expressions on their faces. I feel it's really important to try and make the couple or people in the photos as comfortable and at ease as possible, so that we get the best photos of them. I really try to encourage them to be themselves; if they ask me to pose them I will, but I always emphasize to the couple to just be themselves and do what's comfortable, so I let them create their own version of the poses they see and like (I show them photos of poses that they can do on my phone). I find showing them a photo of the pose makes it much easier for them to mimic a pose, and that way they can put their own spin on a certain pose if they like (rather than me directing them into a pose).
I luckily picked out a bunch of different poses that I like before their engagement session, and then the sister (who graciously arranged for their engagement photo session) mentioned they want to be posed as they are nervous in front of a camera. So I was glad I spent so much time picking out some fun and romantic poses. My favorite pose and photo of all is the first one below, where they are facing away from me the photographer kissing in front of the beautiful Grand Lake! We started the engagement photo session at Point Park in Grand Lake, there is a small parking lot there for a little less than 10 cars, we arrived early so we would get a spot, but there was not many people there since it was December 27th, in the middle of winter and during the holidays! Which was nice because I enjoy photographing couples when there aren't many people around. We got some photos in the beautiful pine trees at Point Park, and then of course some photos with the Grand Lake and mountains in the background! There was a cute little bench to get photos at as well. We then headed over to East Inlet Trailhead and got some photos there; they put on their ski gear for fun, all in all it was a really fun photo shoot and the couple seemed to enjoy themselves too and have fun, which is all I can ask for!
